Roger Federer and Wilson launched the RF Classics rackets on June 27, a new collection that reimagines the nCode design used during his dominant run from 2004 to 2006.
What happened?
The RF Classics Collection features two rackets: the RF 01 Pro Classic, a modern take on the nCode set on the RF 01 Pro frame, and a limited-edition straight reissue of the original nCode 90.
The RF 01 Pro Classic offers a recreation of the nCode 90 with key elements from the RF 01, while the nCode 90 reissue is the same as the one that launched in 2004.
Why it matters for Roger Federer
Federer's partnership with Wilson has led to the creation of unique projects, with the RF Classics Collection being the first of many.
Michael Schaeffer, Wilson's global product director for racket sports, said the nCode is "tied to some of Federer's most dominant years" and that 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of the 2005 season, arguably the most impressive of his career.
In 2005, Federer went 81-4, winning 11 titles and two majors.
What comes next?
The launch of the RF Classics Collection may be the first project from Federer and Wilson, but more could be on the way, with Schaeffer saying "Roger's career has so many moments worth celebrating".
Federer agrees, stating "I have so many great memories with my Wilson rackets, but the nCode will always stand out" and that it "means a lot to bring this piece of my career back for new generations of players and fans".
The RF 01 Pro Classic features details such as the RF logo and modernized fonts, with a callout of Roger's 2005 achievements on the inside of the throat.
Federer was invested in the product details, asking that the internal stripe on the inside of the hoop be exactly 19mm to reflect the original beam height of the nCode 90.
The limited-edition nCode 90 reissue is the same as the one that launched in 2004, catering to traditionalists who want the original design.
The RF Classics Collection is a celebration of Federer's iconic moments, with the nCode design being a significant part of his career.
On June 27, tennis fans and players can get their hands on the RF Classics rackets, reliving the dominant years of Roger Federer's career.
